It is equally as important to have a properly prepped canvas as it is to have an amazing artist. Your face is the canvas and we want the best results possible for you. So, to help prepare our clients for their appointment, we've compiled the information below. We know it sounds like a lot, but proper care before your procedure is crucial to optimum pigment retention.
General Instructions:
· No peels/lasers around the procedure area within 6 weeks of your appointment.
· No Botox within 2 weeks of your appointment (if doing eyebrows).
· Having sunburned or very tanned skin will significantly reduce your pigment retention rate. Please stay out of the direct sun for 2 weeks prior to your appointment for optimal results.
· We do not do permanent makeup on women who are pregnant. If you find out you are, please call and we will refund your deposit until you can reschedule.
· If you have a heart condition or prosthetics and take antibiotics before any invasive procedure, please take antibiotics prior to having permanent makeup done.
· If you are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy, please consult with your physician for approval.
· If you have any medical issue/concern, please consult with your physician to confirm permanent makeup is right for you.
· To reduce swelling and bruising you can try homeopathic remedies like eating fresh pineapple and/or taking Arnica Montana.
· If you smoke, are diabetic or have an auto-immune disorder, be prepared to heal slower.
· It takes approximately 10 days for your procedure to heal and the pigment to settle. During that time stay out of the sun, do not exercise or engage in any activity that causes your face to turn pink and no facials/peels for 2 weeks. Please plan accordingly.
Eyeliner Procedures:
· Do not use eyelash growth products for 4 weeks until your appointment. Resume using after 3 weeks from the procedure date.
Lip Procedures:
· If you are getting lips done, please call your doctor, let he or she know and ask for a prescription for fever blisters. Follow your doctor’s dosage instructions for 1 week before procedure.
Day-Before and Day-of Instructions:
· No alcohol 24hrs before if you are getting any PMU procedure.
· No caffeine, alcohol, smoking, or aspirin day of. (Can cause blood thinning resulting in bleeding, not allowing pigment to be deposited in skin.)
· No sweating or exertion the day of your procedure.
· If you are getting eyeliner done and wear contacts, please bring glasses.
· Come with CLEAN face.
There is swelling after the treatment that lasts for 24-48 hours (you can apply cold compresses). Color is very intense, usually for 3-7 days after the treatment. Do not rub, pick, or peel off the scabs, you will remove the pigment with them.
Wash gently with neutral soap. Pat dry or allow to air dry.
During the first 3 days, apply a THIN layer of antibiotic ointment or cream (when necessary).
For at least 2 weeks avoid heavy sweating, the sun, swimming, saunas, makeup, cosmetic treatments and shaving.
If necessary, corrections can be done between 30-60 days later, (not included in today’s price).
Color boost can be done once a year to intensify color (any additional touch ups/color boosts are at additional costs and not included in today’s price).
In order to preserve the color as long as possible, use SPF when in the sun.
Color and the thickness are more intense during the first few days after the treatment. After that, color will soften and fade and look more natural.
Client shall consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of infection or an allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the tattoo to the artist and to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Drug and Medical Devices Group, at 1-888-839-6676.
